News from Coffee Springs
Things are going well in Coffee Springs now. We are in the midst of a hotly contested mayoral race with two contenders. The major issue in the race seems to be whether to fix up the swimming pool at the springs. One side contends that we ought not to do it because it would be too expensive and would perhaps break the town. The other says that Coffee Springs stands to gain much from the improvements to the springs park. Once it was a very good resort to visit and have a cool swim in the summer time. Time will tell which side prevails.
There continues to be frequent traffic accidents on the roads around here. They are quite deceiving because they seem like quiet country roads so people relax and let their guard down. Just this past week a high school senior starting back to school was killed at a road intersection near here called "five points" because it is a place where five roads come together. It was very trajec accident because it was to have been the first day of his senior year at school. These country roads are very dangerous.
We are still having lots of road kill on the bridge over the swamp and almost every morning one can see the gang of buzzards having their breakfast. We have many buzzards here and they have been affectionately named "Coffee Springs Eagles." They may be ugly but they do serve a useful purpose in that they keep the environment cleaned up.
Well, this is good to get started and I hope to post more news from Coffee Springs soon and regularly.
