We Spend Too Much Time Apologizing and Asking for Apology

 

 

One can hardly turn on the news nowadays without hearing about someone either apologizing for something or people asking of bad an apology for having hurt feelings.  I think it is way past time for people to knock that cotton picking chip off their shoulder start living their lives.  I guess our politicians in particular of people that.

Get their wee little feelings hurt at the drop of a hat!  I also believe that people are not apologetic they are just doing it for political correctness and for them to gain in the world of politics. Well, the news outlet sewers promote it. And maybe they are just trying to get revenge from their mommy's making them apologize to so many people when they were physically small.

It does not take much political correctness to make me have a belly full of it.  I was raised in the country and pretty much on my own and did not travel in a gaggle or have a bunch of people around all the time. When I started to public school, I kind of got into the political correctness and it has a flavor of socialism.  Things happened like everyone being punished for the actions of a particular person and also the necessity of striving to fit into the lot. One must never be too individualistic. There really can not be socialism in its true form in a group of people. There will be bullies like there were bullies in school. And btw it is not too good to react to bullies unless they arecausing you real harm.

Weather is Warming Up Some Now

It is a very pretty day today.
It is getting to be nice weather. I hope that it will continue. By the time Christmas comes around it will be very good. I was reading where there is a move to eliminate Merry Christmas and make it into happy holidays. Well okay, I am going to close my mind on that and not give it too much thought. The merchants surely don't mind taking advantage of it so I would think they have an interest in keeping it Christmas. When I was growing up we did not celebrate Christmas because my grandparents thought it was wrong to do so. They believed that the Christmas holiday was inserting something extra which the Almighty has not told us to do. Of course, He could not have died for us and rose again if he never had been born. All my life I have had a bit of mixed feelings about Christmas and been conflicted about it. I still enjoy the season aside from people trying to run over me in traffic when I go to town. I also dislike the greed of the season but I really enjoy the holidays. This year I seem to feel more of the Christmas spirit than I have in a long time. I was thinking that maybe it was because I don't have so many more of them left. But oh well, I am going to enjoy it as much as I can and wish everyone that I can the Merriest of Christmas and the happiest of the New Year. The older I get the more I appreciate my old friends and associates. Some of them that I didn't like back now I very much truly appreciate. Now that I have been all the way around the horn trying to explain myself, I hope everyone is not too confused. The best till next time.

Howdy and I hope you are having a good day as I am having. I am very aggravated about a new notebook computer that I bought for a specific purpose and that I can get the darn thing to do anything without I wanted to do because probably there so many safeguards on it from hacking and stuff to where one can hardly use it!

I know they put all that stuff on there to prevent hacking  so as to keep people from messing with your computer, but it's very very aggravating! It is a pity that some people just live that make people's other's life miserable!  There's a good side to humans but there is also a very bad side to them, extremely evil. Well I suppose that is enough of my venting so I better put away my soapbox and get on with what I really set out to say.

  I had good  morning  on the ham radio and was able to talk to several of my friends .  and I really enjoy talking on the radio in the morning and I have a group of  friends a very good. That is very good, because I don't get to see many people here at home. My wife, Ellen is disabled and I usually stay around here to help. And besides that it is just plain fun to talk on the radio. I have done much of it in my day and time.

I  am going to try to keep this blog up to date, well we'll see. So check back in with me.

 

March 30 2017  - Kennon Smith's ramblings -Well maybe something is gonna happen soon and I hope it is for the good. Summer is now coming in with a vengeance and it seems to be getting a bit warmer all the time.
I have been working in my garden a lot lately and planted some of those delicious vegetables which will be so good a little bit later

Can't wait to get my chompers on them that's for sure. It's a good time near the finishing is getting better the gardening is getting better but how mighty is in the pits with a very low propagation is not sets not doing too well! In fact it is right now in the pits but maybe we a have a bit better luck better.

I have just been working in the garden, the kind of work that really keeps you down to Earth! Recently I have been planting and the latest thing is okra. I planted four rows of it this morning. I like to have lots of it because I really love okra! I love it any way you can fix it. My favorite dish of okra is sauteed and not overcooked. I also like it just plain boiled or even better boiled is a bowl of dark soup field peas. So far I have planted yellow  summer squash, onions, turnips and mustard, collards and egg plants.

Well, I better quit having fun and get back to work, but garden work is really fun!

2017 What are my Resolutions

2016 DEC 28 Well good morning and the year 2016 is nearly gone and about this time of year I usually get very pensive and wonder where my life is headed.  I usually try to make a few New Year's resolutions and to improve my way of life a bit.  One is to be more compassionate toward people and act more gracious. I think of the word gracious and I have learned a lot about Donald Trump, is being very gracious to those who have done things for him or against him.  He comes across as being very rough and coarse but he's very gentle gracious and has a very good spirit about him at after-the-fact.  I think related to this is that I should judge a person by his actions and not hate him but the hate her ways but you can still love that  person.  I think this follows right along with the old slogan, hate the sin and love the sinner!  Maybe thats what Jesus meant when he said he, "Love your enemies!"

Another good thing I should do this year is to look for ways to help people. There is a lot of suffering or in the world and while a bit we can do to help is a very great thing!  Everybody can use a boost, so I'm going to look for ways to help people's feelings and help them along this line, after all we are all in it together and it's a rough and bumpy road so anytime we can smooth out the bumps it makes things go smoother.

The Cotten Reunion was a Success

July 25, 2016- We had the Cotton reunion day before yesterday and I thoroughly enjoyed it so I guess that qualifies for me to call it a success. I enjoyed everything of the day and it was so good to see those that I don't get to see often. Some were absent and I really missed those both those that were absent for good and those that just missed this session of the reunion. I surely miss those old ones that I used to know so well that are gone for good. They do however live on in memory. That is the good thing about continuing to have the reunions because we can remember and not forget the ones that have gone on before.

I was glad to see the reunion get a Facebook page, which Bradley  was good enough to gin up for up. Already there have been a tremendous amount of pictures uploaded to it. I think that it will be a great tool for keeping up with each other and the reunion can grow and become an even greater event.

Those in charge did a great job and I send you lots of thanks. Without the work that people put in the reunion would not be nearly as much a success as it is. See all of you next year!

July 23, 2016- This is the day of the Cotton reunion and I am going to try  to go to it. Mainly because that family was my family for so long and still is my children's family. I will admit there has been lots of water under the bridge since I met that little girl at the Ozark Roller Bole when she told me to get out of her way. I was blocking her from getting off the floor after the number was over. She was an expert at skateing  and I was not too bad myself. I did, however; sprain my ankle one time when I was "showing out." You probably know that young boys are always trying to impress someone. I did pay for it in pain. That sprained ankle was probably some of the most intense pain that I had ever had. It is still very good to remeet old friends and kinfolks, inlaws or outlaws.

Ellen has gotten interested in politics of late and she has been sitting up late and watching the Republican fall-de-rall. I think she has developed a genuine interest in politics. But, that is not such a bad thing seeing the shape that this country has gotten into because of self-serving politicians. I don't know what is in store for this nation, but I know if doesn't change it is doomed. Will see how the reunion goes. The sad part about it is that lots of those that were there are not around anymore. It is sad but just a part of life.

We should always be kind to one another and show our love at every juncture because one never knows when they will join those that are already gone on.
